How to Install wordpress plugin - Tutorial 3

Hello Once again after long interval i have got some free time to make this Wordpress tutorial continue

So lets start , login to your wp-admin area of your blog. and lets go step by step after that.

Step 1 :- Find this inside your wp-admin panel in left menus

Step 2 :- after getting the plugin menu u can see so many navigation system to find plugin , either upload the downloaded plugin or can search the plugin direct online from wordpress.org database.

Step 3 :- Like shown in picture below i have searched a plugin for sitemap generation for search engines.

Step 4 :- Once i searched the plugin so many related plugins will come in list in with Install option.

Step 5 :- Now choose any plugin suitable to your requirement and click the " Install " in right hand side , an ajax window will come up with " Install Now " Option as shown in picture below.

Step 6 :- Once we click the " Install Now " the plugin will install in our wordpress folder only if the folder is having permission of CHMOD : 777

Step 7 :- After that one thing left and it is to " Activate " the plugin once it clicked the plugin start functioning.

Hello Once again.

In this tutorial i will show u how many modes we can use to install a template in wordpress blog. Its quit simple. Let me start

Step 1 :- First i will tell u the modes of Installation.

After that u will get right hand panel on which u can see a button click this button and then

Step 2 :- Upload a template from downloaded zip format. I have searched from google.com term " Free Wordpress template " and got one and download now i will show how i upload. your Wp-content/themes folder should be 777 Permitted to do this act.

Step 3 :- Once uploaded these options will appear.

Activate the template and thats it.

In Next Tutorial i will show u how we can install the Plugin in Wordpress.

How to install wordpress - Tutorial 1

Welcome to Wordpress.org Blog Tutorials. I will show u how we will install the Wordpress Blog on our own domain.

Step 1:- Download the latest wordpress blog software from http://wordpress.org

Step 2 :- Upload the zipped Wordpress inside your domain via FTP or login to Cpanel and upload the Zipped File in your Public_html folder. Then Extract it.

Step 3:- Open the browser and target it to http://yourdomain.com/ it will directly show u that Wordpress is not Install

Step 4 :- Once the Configuration file generated you will get second page where u have to fill the details of your Database , Database User , Database Password.

Step 5 :- Click next Run the Install to install wordpress in database and set the usable tables.

Step 6 :- in next page fill the Blog Heading and Email address

Step 7 :- Copy the password and enter into Wp-admin panel and change it to something which u can remember easily.

This is all for the Wordpress Installation on your own domain. Next Tutorial will be on How to Install Templates.

Now you have a very popular blog you may want your visitors to come back to your site. you can add bookmark button to your site.

open http://addthis.com/

click on get your button .

it ill lead to a page from where you will be able to see this.

it will open a login page from there you will be able to install the widget.

and if you want to install manuall then copy the code and install manually from your blogger dashboard.

How to add element below header -Tutorial 19

Now you have a template which doesnt have element space below header ,but you want to add the space for adsense below header for better visiblity.

it can be done with few steps.
backup your template before doing changes.

your template layout looks like this.

Now click layout
then click EDIT HTML.

You will see a link written as download full template.

click it and save your template in case you went wrong with some codes you can always use the template you backedup.

copy the code below and paste it before code ]]>

Its looks very professional to have a drop down menu in blogs ahing all the links to pages.

you can also make one very easily.
Just add this code in your sidebar or in main page post where you want to show the menu.

You may have best blog but the URL may be very long and you are very lazy to write it.

so here is a tutorial ,how to shorten your blogs link by using link shortening service.

just go to http;//tinyurl.com
and you will see this.

write your blogs link in that space and under that write your desired name of the link.

Press on make tiny url you are done.

Moving images -Tutorial 16

As you have seen tutorial for moving text which is called marquee. we can also move images like that.

Upload you favourite images on any free imagehosting sites.
example is http://www.imageshack.us and another one is http://www.hostpic.org

a link will be generated after you have uploaded the images.

just copy all the images links in a notepad for future use.

use this code .paste the links in between.

find your favourite video and see the embeded code for it.

Control the number of posts to show in a page -Tutorial 13

Now you have made many posts in your blog but all are shown on single page,you may want to show 10 posts on a page and other posts on other page, to do this its very simple.

just login to your blogger account.
Click on settings from dashboard.

Click on formatting.

then this screen will appear.

just choose the number of posts you want to show on main page and you are done, enjoy.

first of all find an upward pointing arrow image from google , search as BACK TO TOP BUTTONS.

Now in your blogger account click on LAYOUT.

A popup window will open ,click on ADD HTML/JAVASCRIPT.

Then in this window paste this html code

this is the html code you need to paste in that.

When you post your email address in your blog to help others to contact you, you dont know that you are also helping bots and spammers to see your e-mail address and sending spam emails.
Spammers have some softwares which searches for email addresses on web,but there is a way to hide it.

Instead of writing your e-mail address directly in post,make it a clickable link and the words will be different to see.

Other method is also there to hide your email address from bots is by using images.

Hey friends i m back, sorry for the delay in these days.
Now in this tutorial i will teach you to have image instead of the text in header .

login to your blogger account.
and click on LAYOUT.

click on EDIT as shown in picture.

then this page will popup.
just upload the image from your computer,and if you want to paste link of the picture then link space is also given.

click SAVE . now see you blog. you will see an image on the header.

But make sure the image you choose is good in size otherwise it will resize and not look good.

How to set up favicon icon in blogger -Tutorial 8

This is known as favicon icon.
You may be also wanting it for your blog.

So in this tutorial i will teach you how to setup favicon icon on your blogger template.

first of all choose a nice picture of your choice.
open it in paint and click save as. when saving ,save it as .ico it will create is icon file.
or you can create your favicon icon from http://www.favicon.cc
then upload the picture to some imagehosting site like imageshack.us or many other are available.

paste in a notepad.

How to set menu of pages in blogger manually -Tutorial 6

So now if you have template which doesnt have automatic menu bar which doesnt allows adding links from layout then you have to add the menu links of pages manually from edit template. this tutorial shows all the steps required.
Login to your draft blogger account.
From your dashboard click on layout.

Before this, copy all your links of your pages from edit paged menu, you will see a link to view page, click it, it will open your page,copy that link in a notepad for future use.

Now.come back to layout settings. from there click on EDIT HTML.

you will see a page like this with so many html codes.
search these codes as shown in the picture,and replace your own link with "your link here" and replace "home" or "contact us" with your own words you want to show in blog menubar.

Now you have learnt to insert menu link in blogger template manually.

How to set menu of pages in blogger -Tutorial 5

So now you have made pages in your blogger account.you may want to link them to your template menu bar.
Some templates have menu bar option in the layout but some dont have.
Mostly new templates which are downloaded from http://eblogtemplates.com/ have menu bar option in layout.

this is your blogger dashboard.

then click on LAYOUT.
You will see this page.

Click on top tabs.
You will see this popup window.

Enter your links from the blogs you want and click ADD LINK.
and save.your links will be automatically saved in the template.
Next tutorial will be on adding links manually for those templates which donthave facilty to add links automatically.

How to make pages in blogger- Tutorial 4

Now you have changed your template ,and you might be wondering that how to make pages in blogger.
wordpress blogs has a very good option to make pages , but in blogger its not available , but in beta blogger they have given an option to make pages.
So in order to user BETA blogger sign in to http://draft.blogger.com/
with same id and password as of blogger.
draft blogger homepage looks like this.

after signing in you will notice new interface different to blogger.

click on NEW POST . then a page like this appear.

Click on NEW PAGE on this page.

After that a page with new post will come ,in that make a new post and you page will be ready.

After you publish it. you have to manually take the links of the page and paste them in the blogger menu bar.
That will be in next tutorial.
